Motivational Interviewing is a directive, person-centered counseling style for enhancing motivation to change.  Motivational Interviewing is a proven way to approach a client/counselor interaction to evoke natural change.  It is one of the most effective evidence-based practices available to improve retention, engagement, and outcomes for people with mental illness or substance abuse problems.
