NC Recovery Helpline
NC Recovery Helpline is dedicated to advocating for, connecting, and educating North Carolina citizens seeking help for themselves or a loved one struggling with substance use and/or mental health. We also support as the providers who serve these individuals.
We can be contacted via phone, text, email, or chat.
Those reaching out to NC Recovery Helpline will be served by a Recovery Advocate with lived experience.

We Advocate- for individuals with substance use and mental health challenges. We advocate for the providers that serve them. We advocate for access to quality healthcare for everyone. We support all pathways to recovery. Everyone touched by substance use and mental health deserves to be able to access help and treated with dignity and respect.

We Connect- individuals to substance use and mental health treatment providers and other recovery related resources throughout the state of North Carolina. We support others by helping them to navigate the behavioral health systems, and providing follow up until the individual is connected to sufficient support.

We Educate- those reaching out about different levels of care, treatment modalities, Medicaid Expansion, and how to eliminate stigma.
While people can be connected to help 24/7 through NC Recovery Helpline, Recovery Advocates respond via phone, text, chat or email Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. Those calling outside of these hours are given the option to be connected immediately to someone in their county. Resource Directory can also be accessed 24/7.
